Spring 2017 Season games will start on February 23rd. Season should consist of
10 games (if no rain outs) and end on May 25th.
Spring REGISTRATION will be via online system. Players can still register after
the teams are formed and the games start. Players will be added to teams or placed
on a waiting list.
Spring Season will consist of about 10 weekly games. Each week’s game are played
on Friday night during March and May and on Sunday evening during April. All Friday
night games will start at 7 PM. All games scheduled to be played at Pleasant Valley
Fields (PVF) sports complex. Back up site is Woodcreek Park (only used for possible
rain out make up games). Players are assigned to teams. League provides team jersey
and socks. Players must wear shin guards.
NOTE: All games at played at PVF require all players and referees to wear ‘turf’’
type shoes. NO cleat shoes allowed at PVF (for adults). Cleat shoes can be used at
Games are 11 versus 11 on grass fields (90 minute game time) with full size goals.
We have paid experienced referee teams for each game. Each team has a team captain
to help make sure everyone is playing and having a good time. Games are played with
‘free substitution’. So players can check in and out of the play as often as they
want when they want. Goals scored by females are counted as two points. Note that
a fair number of the league goals were scored by the ladies.
The league also uses a concept we call ‘protected player’ status during the game.
The intent is to provide some protected time for new inexperienced players to learn
some basic ball handling skills when first receiving a pass (outside of the opposing
team’s penalty area). Any inexperienced player can decide (optional) if they want
to use ‘protected player’ status during a game. ‘Protected players’ are identified
by one white sock (along the other sock representing the team) during the game. More
details will be provided at the pre-game meeting.
Players can register at any time (pre-season or during the season). But players signing
up after the teams are formed are only placed on teams as space is available. If
no space is available they are placed on a waiting list. Players can register via
cell phones at the games if team space is still available.
Note that $30 of the Registration cost goes to National AYSO. This National AYSO
fee covers the player until August 31, 2018. Returning players from the Fall 2017
season for the Spring 2018 will NOT have to pay this $30 National AYSO fee again.
NOTE: League will provide team jersey and socks to all players. Players must provide
own shorts and shin guards. All players are required to wear shin guards to play.
